On the premises of King David Academy there are 2 Large outdoor play areas with ladders and climbing structures, slides, swings, covered gazebos, sandbox, bicycle lanes and plenty of space to draw with chalk.
The daycare schedule:
Breakfast – 9:00 am
Lunch – 12-noon
Snack – 3:30 pm
Outdoor Play:
Morning – 45min
Afternoon – 45min
Nap – 1 hour, after lunch, every day
King David Academy is certified by Bright From the Start and was named Center of Distinction by Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. Currently, King David Academy is in the process of obtaining NAEYC Certification.
Nutrition
We at King David Academy are especially proud of our Nutrition Program. The Menu was designed and is constantly monitored by a nutritionist and ensures optimal nutrition for each child.
Every meal is prepared fresh in our kitchen using fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, meats, fish and herbs. Even the bread is freshly baked in an on-site brick oven.
King David Academy has 2 separate kitchens: 1 for Dairy food preparation and 1 for food containing Meat products in order to serve children with allergies and food restrictions. The kitchen has been certified by the Georgia Health Department.
For Breakfast children have a selection of hot kasha, cereal, omelets, blinies, fruit, toast, cheese, tea, and milk.
For Lunch children enjoy a bowl of hot soup, salad, and an entrée that includes chicken, meat, or fish with rice, pasta, potatoes, or another grain.
For afternoon Snack children are given a treat that can be an oatmeal cookie, fruit cup, or a cheese pancake with a cup of 100% juice or milk. Up-to-date menus are available upon request.
At King David Academy we pay close attention to the contents of the food that we serve children. We try to avoid chemical preservatives, artificial sweeteners, hydrogenated/trans fats, and other synthetic substances. Plastic containers are not used to serve food in order to avoid BPA.
Daily activities teach children basic social skills and norms of behavior. Special attention is paid to appropriate interaction between children and between children and adults.
Children learn to clean up their toys after they finished playing with them, to set up the table for lunch, and make their bed. We support toilet training and are happy to help parents with this task. Together with the parents we work to provide the optimal environment for each child.
